When you are getting ready to marry, you are entering an incredibly exciting time. It is also a period marked by planning and decision-making. One of those decisions is finding the best wedding photographer, someone you trust to capture your day exactly as it unfolds.

Below, I’ll share what being regarded as a top wedding photographer at a world level means to me, and what you can expect when you choose me as your wedding photographer.
What does “best” actually mean in wedding photography?
For some, the word best is purely subjective, shaped by personal taste and preference. And while that may be true in certain areas, wedding photography allows for a more tangible way of measuring excellence.
Within the international wedding photography community, there is broad agreement on what defines top-level work. The world’s best wedding photographer is not chosen based on a single image. Work is judged in series rather than individual photographs, often across multiple years and submissions. Consistency is key.
It is this long-term evaluation that distinguishes occasional strong work from photographers who perform at the highest level, time and time again. It comes down to technical mastery, emotional awareness and a recognisable signature style..
But what does all of this actually mean for you? You simply want beautiful photographs of your wedding day, right? The relevance lies in what top-level recognition represents. It offers a level of assurance. The assurance that the wedding photographer you choose can handle any situation, adapts when plans change, and delivers under pressure without disrupting the experience of your day.
I am proud to be ranked alongside some of the best wedding photographers in the world. Reaching and maintaining that level is not accidental. It requires constant development, staying aware of trends and techniques, and continually refining storytelling within documentary wedding photography. That is why we regularly attend masterclasses and workshops with leading Dutch and international photographers.
Being considered among the best does not mean you’re done developing once you are at the top. For me, it means constantly reviewing my work, questioning decisions, refining my approach and allowing space for growth. Progress comes from reflection, not complacency.
You may notice that I often say we. That is intentional. Working at the highest level is never a solo effort. I rely on a trusted team of photographers, videographers and stylists. We are more than colleagues; we are friends and, in many ways, family. That connection allows us to work seamlessly together and consistently deliver the level of quality our couples expect.

The response of our couples will always matter most. Seeing their happiness and hearing their words is what truly drives me. That said, I also feel incredibly grateful that our work is recognised internationally by fellow professionals within the wedding photography industry.
One of the most respected platforms in the industry is Fearless Photographers. Their awards are often described as the World Cup of wedding photography and are widely regarded as some of the top wedding photography awards in the industry. Submissions are judged anonymously by an international jury, with a strong focus on originality, storytelling and emotional impact. To have work selected, let alone awarded multiple times, is a meaningful acknowledgement from peers who understand the craft at the highest level. Being recognised through award-winning wedding photography remains something I deeply value.
Another milestone I am particularly proud of is being named Best Wedding Photographer of the Benelux in 2024 by Masters of Wedding Photography. The Benelux refers to Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, and this competition is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious wedding photography contests in the region. Alongside this title, we have received a total of fifteen Master Awards over the years.
